                <h1>Vad är GI och hur räknar man livsmedels GI-värde?</h1>
                
                <h2>Vad&nbsp;är ett&nbsp;GI-värde?</h2><p>Forskning har visat att det inte bara är mängden näring i ett livsmedel, utan även hur snabbt kroppen tar upp näringen som påverkar kroppens vikt och individens&nbsp;välmående. I forskningsstudier så har olika livsmedels "hastighets" mätts upp genom oberoende studier av hur olika livsmedel påverkar försökspersoners insulingproduktion.</p><p>Baserat på dessa studier har ett ramverk med referensvärden tagits fram. Dessa värden kallas GI-värden och beskriver på ett enkelt sätt hur onyttigt ett visst livsmedel eller en viss måltid är.</p><h2>Hur använder man GI-värden i praktiken?</h2><p>GI-värden brukar anges i samband med ett livsmedels övriga näringsvärden, eller i&nbsp;tabeller över GI-beräknade livsmedel. Vid en första anblick kan det kännas väldigt komplicerat att tolka dessa tabeller, men när man väl lär sig GI-metodens grunder blir det genast mycket enklare.</p><p>Ett livsmedel kan ha olika GI-värden beroende på tillagningssätt, koktider eller mognadsgrad.
